The 18th annual Barnesville Game and Fish Banquet is scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 30 in the gym of First Baptist Church in Barnesville. The evening begins with free seminars at 6 p.m. on the church campus. The banquet begins at 7 p.m. in the gym. The seminars will last 50 minutes and will feature some returning favorites like bass fishing with tournament fisherman Tim Perkins; turkey hunting with Chad Sanders, former cameraman for RealTree Outdoors; and hunting simulator with ranger first class Keith Page of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources. Also being offered is reloading with ammunition reloader David Higgins and predator trapping with veteran trapper Jeff Manley. Tickets are $10 each and available at Hamrick’s Sporting Goods, Akins Farm and Home and through the office at First Baptist. Tables for 10 may be purchased in advance for $80. Tickets will also be available at the door. Special speaker for this event is Pete Wall, an avid outdoorsman and much sought after motivational/ inspirational speaker from Sylvania.
