Mr. Garland Eugene Bunn Sr., age 79, of Barnesville passed away Tuesday, July 17, 2012 in a Spalding County healthcare facility. A lifelong resident of Lamar County, he was the son of the late Mr. Roy Millard Bunn Sr. and the late Mrs. Inez Nora Buice Bunn. Mr. Bunn was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Army in Korea. He was a lifelong member of the Disabled American Veterans, The Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Margaret Bunn of Barnesville; children, Mr. Steve Xavier Bunn, Mrs. Denise Bunn Connell, Mr. Garland Eugene ‘Gene’ Bunn Jr., Mrs. Pamela Robinson, Mr. Noel Bruce Bunn and Mr. Robin Marty Bunn; one sister, Gail Bunn Arnold; two brothers, Hoyt Bunn and Don Bunn; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other relatives. Funeral services for Mr. Garland Eugene Bunn Sr. will be private. The family will receive friends at the Williams Funeral Home on Thursday, July 19, 2012 from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Disabled American Veterans, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, or to the American Legion.
