Residents and a preschool around Zebulon Street were evacuated Friday after a construction accident resulted in cutting a natural gas line and an adjacent water line. Police, fire and emergency medical vehicles responded to the scene but no injuries were reported. Access to Zebulon Street from Veterans Parkway was blocked and the staff of the McIntosh Trail Early Childhood Development Center was evacuated. The children had left for the day.
