Gordon College president Shelly Nickel will appear on Georgia Public Broadcasting tonight.Gordon Interim President Shelley Nickel will appear on Primetime Politics on Georgia Public Television this evening at 7 p.m. She will be interviewed by host Scott Slade and joined by Caylee French of the Georgia Student Finance Commission. Nickel was president of the GSFC from 2003 to 2005.Nickel will discuss how the HOPE scholarship should be preserved above all other program and will also touch on the HOPE grant and the lottery-funded Pre-K program.’The HOPE scholarship was Gov. Zell Miller’s priority in establishing the lottery, and it should be maintained to continue to challenge Georgia’s students to do well in high school and attend one of Georgia’s public colleges,” Nickel said.Later on the show, Slade will be joined by Tom Crawford of The Georgia Report, Karen Cohilas of WALB-TV, Maureen Downey of the AJC, and Walter Jones of Morris News Service. The panel will weigh in on the future of the HOPE Scholarship, the current financial issues program faces, and possible solutions.
