GC shares in construction award

Gordon College vice president for business affairs Lee Fruitticher and director of facilities, Richard Vereen, hold the Build Georgia Award given to them by David J. Moore of Piedmont Construction Group, LLC. Macon based Piedmont Construction Group, LLC won the award for construction of the Gordon College Nursing and Allied Health Sciences Building which was completed in 2011. The Build Georgia Awards began in 1989 when the Georgia Branch, AGC recognized General Contractor members and their construction teams for outstanding performances on some of Georgia’s most remarkable projects.’¨’¨’We are pleased to be associated with a company like Piedmont Construction Group, LLC,’ said Fruitticher. ‘And we are honored that they shared this award with us.’ The state-of-the-art Nursing and Allied Health Sciences Building is on the southwest side of Gordon’s campus. The three story building features classrooms, teaching labs, offices and a Collaborative Learning Center. Approximately 200 students from the Macon area attend Gordon College.
