Mr. Gerald Lee Powell, age 73, of Barnesville passed away on March 26, 2012 in aThomaston healthcare facility.Mr. Powell was born in Shelby, N.C. to the late Mr. Grover Powell and the late Mrs. Clara Moore Powell. He was a district supervisor with Tindall Concrete.Survivors include his wife, Carol Powell of Barnesville; a son, Cale Powell of Barnesville; a daughter, Monica V. Carns of Barnesville; two brothers. Roger (and Bessie) Powell of Charlotte, N.C., and Jimmy Powell of North Carolina; six grandchildren, Amber Parker, Tim Parker. Drew Van Houten, Hannah Carns, Ben Carns and Michael Powell; and two great-grandchildren, Austin Miler and Caden Van Houten. Several nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.A memorial service for Mr. Gerald Powell will be conducted on Thursday, March 29, 2012, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home. Interment will be private.
