However, the fun can start a little earlier.Senior citizens can celebrate Halloween at the Lamar County senior center Friday at 9:15 a.m., complete with costumes, games, prizes and refreshments. There will be cupcake walks, corn dogs, popcorn, drinks, candy, games, prizes and pictures in costume, all on the church lawn.Barnesville First Baptist Church will hold Trunk or Treat on Oct. 31 from 6-8:30 p.m. in the gym parking lot. Barnesville Nazarene Church will have Trunk or Treat from 6-9 p.m. Free hotdogs and chili will be served as long as they last.Calvary Baptist Church is also planning an event for Trick or Treat on Thomaston Street.The Barnesville Veterans of Foreign Wars post will host a Halloween party and costume contest from 9 p.m. to 12 midnight. Tickets are $6 at the door. The first prize is $100 and second prize is $50. Third and fourth place winners will be recognized. Buck and Frank Wilder will provide the entertainment. Donations can be dropped off at the chamber office, CVS or Walgreens. Monetary donations can be taken to the chamber. For information call the chamber at 770-358-5884.Halloween is also Senior Night at the Lamar County Trojans football game against Monticello. Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m. at the stadium.
