Charles Glass announced his candidacy for the Lamar County commission last March and was elected early last summer. He took office at 12:01 a.m. January 1. In the interim, the political and economic environment facing the commission changed drastically.Times have, indeed, changed and Glass thinks the commission must change with them – particularly in the area of communications.’We’ve got to be much more up front about sharing information with the citizens. We’ve got to get them to buy into the commission and get their thoughts on things before we implement policy. It doesn’t cost any more to communicate better,’ Glass said.’There is so much misinformation out there. I don’t know where it all comes from. We can improve communications. We can do a better job of communicating with our constituents,’ he added.
