‘Dancing under the Stars’ on Saturday April 14 will feature big band music by Night Train, including smooth, swing and Latin melodies with Karin Williams. The event is sponsored by John’s Place, a ministry of First United Methodist Church of Barnesville providing day care for those suffering from Alzheimer’s. For $15 per person or $25 a couple, participants can enjoy dance lessons from 7-8 p.m. and dancing from 8-11 p.m. at the Lamar County Primary School gym, 154 Burnette Road. Tickets can be purchased at the door or in advance at Barnesville First UMC. Reserve tickets by mailing a check payable to FUMC-John’s Place to 375 Thomaston Street, Barnesville 30204. The ticket price includes food and beverages (alcohol and tobacco-free event), and dressy casual attire is requested.
