Gober killed in Hwy. 42 crash

Twenty-seven-year-old Nicole Gober was killed Wednesday evening in a head-on collision on Hwy. 42. Her three-month-old daughter was injured. From Allison Selman-Willis, MCSO: A Jackson woman was killed today in a head-on collision on Hwy. 42 in Monroe County around 6:18 p.m. Nicole Gober, 27, was driving her 2004 Dodge Intrepid south on Hwy. 42 and was struck by an older model Ford Ranger when it crossed the center line. The Ford was driven by Floyd Keck, 38, also of Jackson. Ms. Gober and her three-month-old daughter were transported to the hospital where Ms. Gober was pronounced dead. Her daughter, as well as Mr. Keck, received no injuries in the crash. It appeared that both drivers were wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident. The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation into this accident. CORRECTION: The Dodge Intrepid was driven by Gober’s husband, Craig McMurray. He did not receive any life threatening injuries in the accident.  The initial press release is copied below.
