Approximately 290 of the near 600 candidates for graduation at Gordon College took part in commencement exercises Friday morning on Lambdin Green. The gala event enjoyed excellent weather and drew a huge crowd of parents, grandparents and friends to a manicured campus. Gordon president Max Burns was unable to participate because his wife underwent emergency surgery Thursday. Vice president Ed Wheeler filled in for him. Ed Mitchell delivered the commencement address.
