The Gordon College men’s baseball team will return home for its final games of the regular season Friday, April 17. The Highlanders will face South Georgia College for a three game series starting Friday at 6 p.m. Saturday’s double header begins at 2.The team will travel to Tennessee to face Cleveland State on April 21 before returning home for three final games against Truett-McConnell on April 24 and 25. In recent play the Highlanders took two and dropped two against Darton and South Georgia which leaves the team 26-15 for the regular season and 10-5 in conference play.In the first game against Darton, Gordon scored 11 runs to Darton’s 6. Brandan Chastain led the offense with a 2-5 performance including 3 RBIs. Aaron Dobbs and Eric Esquilin chipped in with a 2-4 performance respectively and Tyler Brown picked up the win going just over 4 innings in relief and allowing one hit.In game two of the series, Gordon scored two to Darton’s 4. Bryant Kerns was the tough luck loser pitching a complete game, striking out 7 and allowing no earned runs.Aaron Dobbs was 1-2 with a home run.Gordon bounced back in the third game scoring 10 to Darton’s 6. Joah Evans picked up the win pitching 6 innings and allowing just 2 runs. Mitch Rider, Jim Moreland, Blake Parrott and Aaron Dobbs were all 2-4 at the plate.In a game against South Georgia Gordon scored 18 runs, losing by just one to South Georgia. Mitch Rider led the offense with a 3-6 performance including 3 RBI’s whileBrandan Chastain and Luke Walls chipped in with 3-5 performances.
