Gordon College receives grant from Governor’s Office of Highway Safety

The Governor’s Office of Highway Safety has awarded Gordon College a $7,700 grant to participate in the Georgia Young Adult Program. The Young Adult Program was developed for colleges and universities in the state to focus on awareness and education in the areas of highway safety issues, alcohol and drug education and prevention, increasing safety belt usage, preventing aggressive driving and other destructive decisions. ’Gordon College is committed to addressing the dangers of alcohol and drug abuse among its student population,’ said Dennis Chamberlain, vice president of student affairs. Gordon College utilizes the grant money by hosting many campus events and activities and by providing educational materials throughout the academic year to students.
