It has been over 40 years since students and teachers walked the halls of Gordon Grammar School. Those who grew up in Barnesville and are over 50 may have been one of those students. For over a year, a committee of former students has been working to obtain the names and address of former students and teachers, and planning a reunion that will be held Saturday, May 16, at the Gordon State College Alumni House. Social hour will begin at 5 p.m. with dinner being served at 6 p.m. A very casual backyard barbecue dinner is planned for all attendees to eat while becoming reacquainted with their former classmates, teachers and friends. Invitations are to be mailed during the middle of March to those who have submitted their contact information to the committee. An attendee must receive an invitation and register through the process outlined in the invitation to be able to attend the event. No late registrations will be taken at the door or at the time of the event. Contact information (name, address, email, telephone, and year attended/ taught at Gordon Grammar School) should be submitted to the reunion committee at mailto:barnesvilleggs@yahoo.com or by calling 678-404-0848 on or before March 1. The committee is also seeking pictures of anything related to Gordon Grammar School (school events, school trips, class pictures) to be displayed at the reunion. Anyone who has such pictures can send them to the above email address or upload them to Facebook on the Gordon Grammar School Alumni page.
