Gordon hit by furloughs

Mandatory furloughs approved by the Board of Regents last week will have an impact at Gordon College but schedules will not be affected. It is anticipated the move will save $325,000 on the local campus. The University System mandated all employees take at least three days without pay by the end of the calendar year and the remainder by the end of the fiscal year next June. Each institution will decide how its employees take furloughs but local leaders cannot cancel classes. Employees who make less than $23,660 annually are exempt.
