The administration at Gordon State College is looking into allegations of sexual harassment against its assistant director of admissions Justin Mathis.The ‘˜John Doe’ suit was filed last year by a former student at Kentucky State University where Mathis previously served as director of admissions. The plaintiff, a student who did a work study program in the admissions office, filed the lawsuit after KSU administrators did not respond to his complaints of abuse.In the suit, the student alleges Mathis forced him to share a room with him on a student recruitment trip to Washington, D.C. in September 2017. There are also allegations of inappropriate and sexual messages from Mathis to the student.Mathis resigned from his post at KSU in March, 2018.’We are aware of the situation and are investigating. We cannot comment further on this personnel matter at this time,’ spokesperson Katheryne A. Fields said on behalf of the college.
