Gordon students give back to community

Gordon students took to the streets surrounding the college recently to help tidy up the area and to show they care. The 20 students represented the Student Government Association and Brother to Brother, a service club. Trash was picked up along Houston, Summers Field, Stafford, Spencer, Florida, Georgia, Memorial Drive and Highlander Way. In all, eight 50-gallon trash bags were filled. The group also visited downtown businesses. ’We just wanted to show the community that we care about our neighbors and our town,’ said Chris Childress, SGA president. ‘We hope to do many community service projects throughout the academic year.’
