Great puppy chase ends in arrests

The theft of three Yorkie puppies worth about $5000 from a Zebulon Road home in Milner resulted in a high speed chase and the capture of two of the three Cruella Deville wannabes involved. Two black males in a silver Mercedes arrived at the home of Judy Holsclaw, saying they were answering an online ad and wanted to look at the puppies which were not yet weaned. At some point they snatched the puppies and fled to a Mercedes with South Carolina plates idling in the yard that was driven by a third black male. LCSO deputies arrived quickly and mounted a search. The puppy thieves kept texting Holsclaw asking for ransom and investigators were able to ping their phone or phones. The car was located in Jasper County and a high speed chase ensued. It ended in Morgan County when a deputy pitted the fleeing car. Two of the three suspects were captured. The third got into another vehicle and is still being sought. The puppies are safe.
