Greenco principal Tim Lesko testified in Lamar superior court Tuesday his firm is eyeing a move to a former rock quarry in Dekalb County though it may be early next year before he can get his permitting in place. The former Lafarge quarry sits on a 1600-acre site. A Lafarge principal confirmed a deal is in the works. Greenco is under a court order to shut down its Roger Brown Dr. composting operation Nov. 11. Judge Tommy Wilson said he will enforce that order or allow Lesko to continue to operate until the move depending on what the Lamar County commission decides. The local operation has drawn a mountain of complaints regarding odors and flies over the past year.
