The Griffin Country Club will cease operations on January 2, 2013. Various holiday events will be held as scheduled. United Bank and First National Bank hold mortgages on the property and have begun foreclosure proceedings. Club officials and employees hope a buyer will emerge and continue to operate the facility which has been in financial straits for years.
