Griffin man charged after woman shot

A Griffin man is in jail on aggravated assault and other charges after allegedly shooting a woman. The full release from Spalding sheriff Wendell Beam follows: On Thursday January 24, 2013 at approximately 4:30 p.m., units with the Uniformed Patrol Division of the Spalding County Sheriff’s Office responded at the request of the Griffin Police Department to the Super Speed Zone located at 678 N. Expressway Griffin, Georgia reference to a shooting victim. Upon arrival Deputies met with the Griffin Police Officer’s who advised that a female had been shot and was being treated by Emergency Medical Personnel. The officer’s stated that the victim was found in a vehicle in the parking lot after 2 subjects ran into the store and told the clerk to call 911, the 2 subjects than fled from the store and were later located by officers. The 2 subjects were brought to the Sheriff’s Office for questioning. Investigators learned that the shooting incident took place at 109 First Ave Griffin, Georgia. Investigators identified the shooting suspect as Michael Phillip Pattillo 27 years old of 371 4th Ave Griffin, Georgia, the other subject was released without any charges. Michael Phillip Pattillo has been charged with Aggravated Assault; Possession of a Firearm by a convicted felon; Reckless Conduct. He is currently being held at the Spalding County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center with no bond set. The victim is recovering from the gunshot would and is expected to make a full recovery.
