Griffin police officer hit by car

A GPD officer was hit by a car early Thursday while working a traffic accident. Around 7:35 Thursday morning Griffin Police, Spalding Regional EMS, Griffin Fire and Rescue, and Troopers from the Griffin Post of The Georgia State Patrol all responded to Highway 16 near Carver Road in the construction zone, to a two vehicle accident. While conducting the investigation into the cause of the accident a Griffin Police Officer Jeff Gauldin was stuck by a PT Cruiser. Officer Gauldin has been transported to Spalding Regional Hospital for treatment. He was alert and talking with EMT personnel but the extent of his injuries are not known at this time. Troopers from the Griffin Post of The Georgia State Patrol were called to the scene to investigate the accident since an Griffin Police Officer was struck by a vehicle.
