A Griffin man is in critical condition in an Atlanta trauma center after being shot Wednesday at Roberts Collision on Meriwether St.UPDATE: The victim in this incident has died.From Lt. Michael Richardson, GPD:On August 13, 2014 at approximately 13:15 hours Officers from the Griffin Police Department responded 1416 Meriwether Street, Robert’s Collision in reference to a shooting. Upon their arrival it was discovered that an altercation had taken place between a customer and one of the employees which resulted in the employee being shot one time in the chest. The suspect fled the scene on foot and was spotted in the 400 block of Hammond Drive at which time Officers from the Griffin Police Department took the suspect into custody without incident. The shooter has been identified as Christopher Willis of Griffin, Georgia and the victim has been identified as Robert Murry, Jr. also of Griffin, Georgia. Mr. Willis is 29 years of age and the victim is 39 years of age. The victim was life flighted to Atlanta Medical Center and his condition was listed as critical at the time of this release. No other injuries were reported. This is an ongoing active investigation at this time.
