Just after lunch hour the now infamous corner of Grove Street and GA-7 played witness to another car accident.Traveling south on GA-7 a blue Chevy Lumina T-boned a late model silver Hyundai Santa Fe SUV. After spinning 180 degrees the SUV stopped after bumping into a third auto – a black GMC Sierra pick-up truck. The airbag on the Lumina deployed and the passenger was thrust into the windshield sustaining minor injuries. He is currently being taken by ambulance to Spalding Regional Medical Center. The driver of the car escaped with only minor scrapes and scratches but is also seeking medical attention as a precaution. The SUV sustained at least two body collisions but the driver was alert and seemed in good condition. The truck had a scratch or two on the front bumper but was otherwise unscathed.Says Officer C.M. Sears of the Barnesville Police Department, “I don’t know what it is about this intersection. It isn’t a blind turn. Maybe folks are too distracted?” GSP was first on the scene followed by the BPD.
