Tyler Hutch, a freshman outfielder on the Gordon State College baseball team has been awarded the prestigious Rawlings Gold Glove.He is one of only nine players in NJCAA Division I to be awarded the honor.Rawlings recently made the announcement in conjunction with the American Baseball Coaches Association and the National Junior College Athletic Association.The Rawlings Gold Glove has been the standard for outstanding defensive play in the Major Leagues for over half a century.In honor of the award’s 50th Anniversary in 2007, the award expanded to the collegiate and high school levels. Hutch, a graduate of Hebron Christian Academy in Dacula, Ga., is the second Highlander in the last five years to receive a gold glove. Blake Parrott, who played first base, took the same honor in 2009.
