Very little information is available on a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Ga. Hwy. 36 East and the Hwy. 36 Bypass Tuesday night that sent four children and two adults to hospitals. Separate lifeflight choppers were called for each of the four children transported.
Additionally, two adults were taken for treatment by ambulance.

On June 3rd, 2025, Troopers responded to a two-vehicle crash on GA-36 in Lamar County. A Ford Taurus was traveling east on GA-36 and attempted a left turn in front of a Honda Pilot that was traveling west. The Ford Taurus struck the front of the Honda Pilot in the westbound lane. The impact resulted in serious injuries to four adults and two children. All lanes on GA-36 were blocked for approximately two hours.
