H1N1 patient seen at URMC emergency room

Originally reported by Ashley Biles Upson Regional Medical Center recently had its first case of the H1N1 virus, often called swine flu, reported when an out of town patient was admitted in the emergency department for fever and flu-like symptoms June 10. According to Sallie Barker, URMC’ˆcommunications director, staff immediately took precautionary measures and implemented infection control protocol. This includes isolation, masks and tests per CDC recommendations.
