First Baptist Church of Barnesville, 200 Zebulon St., has planned a Heroes Night for local first responders, including law enforcement officers, firefighters and emergency medical technicians, on Sunday, Sept. 4, at 6:30 p.m. Tommy Neiman, a full-time firefighter with the Saint Lucie County Fire District in Fort Pierce, Fla., and one of the chaplains who conducted the mass memorial service in the aftermath of the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attack on New York City, will be the guest speaker. Neiman is also the author of the book, Sirens for the Cross. The public, especially first responders, are invited. A nursery will be provided.
