Monroe County deputies were called to a High Falls residence at 3:30 a.m. September 5 after a man allegedly assaulted a female acquaintance with a sword.The woman, whom authorities are not identifying, was badly injured and transported by ambulance to the Medical Center of Central Georgia in Macon.Deputies arrested 44-year-old Grover Allen Vigil. He is charged with aggravated battery. Additional charges are pending.There were unconfirmed reports that the victim lost an arm in the attack and had her tongue cut out. Authorities would not comment on those reports and no report on the victim’s condition was forthcoming.More on this as the story develops…
