Lamar County Comprehensive High School was named the Region 5AA champion in the annual Governor’s Cup for numerical improvement in SAT scores. The statewide competition was initiated in 2003 as part of an overall effort to raise Georgia SAT scores. It is based on high school athletic regions and classifications assigned by the Georgia High School Association.
