The Gordon College men’s basketball team will welcome a high-flying visitor to tonight’s game, the final home game of the 2008-09 season. For Student/Fan Appreciation Night, the Atlanta Hawks own “Skyhawk” will entertain with a slam dunk show during halftime of the Highlanders – South Georgia Tech match-up. Tip-off is 7:30 p.m. in Alumni Memorial Hall. It will also be the final appearance for five sophomores ‘“ Lamar Elston, Gray McNeeley, Pete Driver, Willie Woodard and Jonathon Harris. ”I can’t say enough about these five players and what they have contributed to the men’s basketball program at Gordon,” said Basketball Coach Israel Ingle. “They will always be a special group to me!” After tonight’s game, the Highlanders will begin preparing for the upcoming Region 17 post-season basketball tournament March 5 – 7.
