GreenGordon goes for win number two in the NJCAA baseball World Series when they face number two seed Jefferon in Grand Junction, Colorado.First pitch is scheduled for 9:30 p.m. local time and can be seen live streaming on the world wide web by accessing NJCAA TV through http://www.njcaa.com The tenth seed Highlanders (37-23) beat ninth seed Shelton State 13-3 Sunday night. The Vikings (53-10) from Hillsboro, Missouri beat fourth seed Cisco 11-3 Saturday and third seed Polk State 9-5 Monday. Jefferson, making its third appearance in the JUCO World Series (2002, 2011), is coached by Sam Carel in his sixth season with a record of 242-117. The Vikings are led by Fred Ford (.432 BA, 17 2B, 13 HR, 68 RBI, 32 SB) and Brett Wiley (.409 BA, 24 2B, 5 3B, 6 HR, 59 RBI, 29 SB). In their first two games of the tournament, Ford is hitting .300 with two doubles and a pair of runs batted in while Wiley is hitting .444 with two doubles, and home run and five RBI. Jefferson’s top two pitchers, Tyler Thompson (11-1, 2.13 ERA, 91 K) and Dalton Friend (11-0, 2.93 ERA, 68 K), have already pitched in the tourney so Gordon is likely to see a third Viking pitcher. The Highlanders are expected to counter with their ace, University of Georgia signee Kenny Anderson (6-5, 2.45 ERA, 67 K).
