Tonight at 5:15pm Christopher Hightower was sworn into Barnesville City Council. Hightower will take the ward two seat vacated last year by Annie Mae Harris. In the election (versus Ronald Horton) Hightower took 34 votes while Horton garnered 33. Turnout was 10.7%. Hightower, the son of longtime school board member Horace Hightower, served on the council some years ago.
