For reprint permission, e-mail news@barnesville.com. *************** Friday dawned with motorists discovering the body of a Barnesville man alongside the railroad tracks off Hwy. 36 West near TJ Outfitters. A review of security video at the store and evidence at the scene led sheriff’s and state patrol investigators to conclude the dead man, 33-year-old Thomas Norman Anderson of 210 Forsyth Street, was the victim of a hit and run. Evidence led to a lookout being issued for a 1997-2003 Ford Expedition or F-150 pickup missing its left passenger side mirror and window. Shortly thereafter deputies arrested Thomas Edward Lenhart III, 28, of 1540 Willis Road. He was charged with first degree vehicular homicide, hit and run and and weaving over the roadway. Lenhart remains in the Lamar County jail after being denied bond at a first appearance hearing Saturday in Lamar magistrate court. Anderson was the brother-in-law of LCSO chief deputy Brad White. His open Facebook account indicates he suffered from depression.
