Easter activities, like Easter lilies, are in full bloom locally.Here’s what’s happening where: St. Peter the Rock Catholic started its week with Holy Thursday, April 1 with the Mass of the Lord’s Supper at 7 p.m. On Good Friday, April 2 it will observe Stations of the Cross at 3 p.m. and Commemoration of the Lord’s Passion at 7 p.m. The Holy Saturday, April 3 Easter Vigil Mass will be at 8:15 p.m. Easter Mass will be at 10 a.m.New Life Anointed Ministries also has a Good Friday service planned for Friday, April 2, 7:30 p.m.The Booker High School class of 1962 will hold its annual Feed the Community event Friday, April 2 from 12 noon to 4 p.m. at the E.P. Roberts Center. In addition to the food, there will be voter registration, a dietician workshop, art and health screenings.An evening Easter egg hunt for third through fifth graders will be held at Barnesville First Baptist Church at 7 p.m. Friday, April 2. Participants are asked to bring a flashlight and basket. A hunt for walkers through second grade will follow at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 3.Barnesville Nazarene Church will hold its annual Easter Egg-stravaganza Saturday, April 3 from 11 a.m. through lunch. There will be games and an Easter egg hunt for children up through sixth grade. Lunch will be served at the end of the celebration.First United Methodist Church will hold its egg hunt at 11 a.m. Saturday but will start its Easter activities with Maundy Thursday services April 1 and Good Friday events on April 2. Easter services begin with sunrise at 7 a.m. followed by contemporary worship at 9 a.m. and traditional worship at 11 a.m.Saturday, April 3 kicks off a round of activities with the Ramah Primitive Baptist Church Ladies Auxiliary Easter bake sale from 8 a.m. until 12 noon at Giant Mart. Pine View Baptist will hold its Easter egg hunt at 10 a.m. while Bethel Baptist will hold a free car wash in the First National Bank parking lot and an Easter egg hunt at Ed Taylor Memorial Park, complete with free hot dogs.
