Home invasion thwarted in Pike

Zebulon Police and Pike County Sheriff’s officers worked together to establish a perimeter and arrest two armed robbery suspects after they attempted to break into a house on Ward Drive around 9:15 p.m. Monday, April 11. Officers responded to a call indicating two individuals with firearms were attempting to gain forcible entry into a home. Upon the officers arrival, the individuals ran into the woods. With the help from the Pike County Sheriff’s Office a perimeter was established and the two individuals were caught. The suspects are a Marcus Jerome Wilkins, 24, from Williamson and a Hardy Ronquez Anthony, 24, from Griffin. Firearms were recovered from the scene and both individuals were taken to the Sheriff’s Office and booked in on the following charges: Criminal Attempt Home Invasion, Criminal Attempt Armed Robbery, Criminal Attempt Aggravated Assault, Criminal Trespass, Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Crime and Obstruction of a Law Enforcement Officer. Nobody was hurt in this incident.
