Homecoming activities on tap next week at LCCHS

The 2013 Homecoming court members for the Oct. 18 football game have been announced. The queen will be chosen from senior representatives Brianna Dixson, Anna Hartsfield, Emily Larrabee, Jordan Laster and Taylah Robinson. The junior representative is Gisel Velasco, the sophomore representative is Melissa Wyatt and the freshman representative is Kayleigh Swanson. Homecoming week for the schools will begin Monday, Oct. 14 and run up to the game on Friday, Oct. 18. The theme is Destination Victory, with special days and activities including a parade and block party bonfire. DAY THEMES Monday, Oct. 14 is Country Road (western) Day. Classes will begin decorating for the door contest and floats. Tuesday, Oct. 15, students will welcome the Trojans to Victory Lane by wearing their favorite sports team apparel. Wednesday, Oct. 16, look out for Character Crossing as students dress as cartoon characters. There will be Homecoming Court practice for representatives at 5:30 p.m. Students will vote for the queen during advisement. Thursday, Oct. 17 the high school will find itself on Twin Drive as pairs of students dress alike. The parade line-up will begin at 4 p.m. and the parade begins at 5 p.m. Floats will be judged during the parade. It will be followed by a block party and bonfire from 7-9:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18 is Number One Trojan Way spirit day. A powderpuff game will be held at 8:30 a.m., followed by door contest judging and a pep rally 1:15 p.m. when the float and door winners will be announced. The homecoming game kicks off at 7:30 p.m. PARADE Anyone interested in participating in the parade should contact the front office by Oct.15 at 770-358-8641. The middle school cheerleaders are taking pre-orders for homecoming mums that will be delivered to each school on Friday. A real white mum with red, white and blue ribbons and silver footballs is $10. A small carnation is $7. To order a mum, contact Kayla Clements at the primary school, Ashley Condon at the elementary school, Erica Tyler at the middle school and Mollie Spurlock at the high school.
