Some 34 veterans from Lamar and surrounding counties have signed on to participate in Honor Flight. The effort, sponsored by the Barnesville and Roswell Rotary clubs, will provide a free trip for World War II veterans to Washington April 14 to visit the WWII Memorial and other places of interest. The trip will be made on a chartered jet. Vets will not have to go through airport security. Medical teams will be on the flight should they be needed.
