Barnesville native Lt. Col. The son of Dot Hardage Patrick, Lt. Col. Torbert recalled marching in parades as a Gordon Military cadet. Asking veterans to stand, he recognized those who served in each war since World War II.The service was sponsored by the American Legion Middlebrooks-Mathis Post 577. It rotates annually between the VFW Post 6542 and American Legion Martin Moore Post 25. For more on Veterans Day, see the Nov. 16 print/eEdition of The Herald Gazette.
