A fire hydrant blew off its moorings Sunday evening, causing a 20 to 25 pound water pressure drop for hundreds of customers, said Barnesville city manager Kenny Roberts.”We got a number of calls,” he said, “so we activated all our emergency personnel. With 140 miles of water lines, we’re thankful we were able to isolate the problem and get it fixed in less than an hour,” Roberts added. The hydrant was on Brook Road off Crawford Road. Several hundred users were affected, including the Crawford Road area and Cole Forest, Craftsman Village and Deerfield subdivisions, said Roberts.After-hours water problems may be reported at 770-358-1246.
