From giving thanks at a communitywide worship service to seeing Santa make his annual appearance in downtown Barnesville, this year’s Illumination Celebration is expected to draw some 600 people Wednesday night. Rev. Dr. Jeff Morgan of Antioch Baptist Church will deliver the sermon at the Community Church Service at the First United Methodist Church. Sponsored by the Ministerial Association, it starts at 6:30 p.m. Featured music will be provided by the Michael English family of First Works Church in Milner, and sisters Mary Grace and Stella Johnson of St. George’s Episcopal School. Immediately afterward at 7:30 p.m., the chamber of commerce will host the annual Illumination Celebration in downtown Barnesville.
