Beginning Monday, Impact Christian Ministries will begin serving evening meals at its building at 116 Zebulon St. The kitchen will open at 4:30 p.m. Fridays, plans are to take the dinner to the streets, in keeping with its street ministry mission. That will begin Feb. 19.Hot cooked meals will range from chicken plates to spaghetti to soups.”While we’ll prepare the meals in-house, we don’t want to lose how it all started,” said founder Ken Page. “Most of our community outreach has been inside lately. This will put us back in contact with the people in the streets.”Impact, which began in September, also serves breakfast. It began serving three days a week and, last month, switched to six days, Monday through Saturday, from 9:30 a.m. until 11 a.m.Look for more information on Impact Christian Ministries in The Herald-Gazette.
