Isom “Zeal” Sullivan, 87, was born in Barnesville, Ga., on Sept. 13, 1927, to Gertrude Brown and Horace Fuller Jr. and departed this life on Feb. 2, 2015, in Oak Park, Mich.Although Isom relocated to Michigan in May 2010, he frequently returned to Georgia to visit friends and relatives. Isom retired from the Barnesville Housing Authority and began his semi-retirement job at the Barnesville Motel, where he was affectionally known as Mr. Ike. He enjoyed golfing, fishing and gardening as well as watching old westerns and Friday night boxing. Forsaking the Atlanta Braves, Isom became a Detroit Tigers fan and frequently shared this pastime with family. Isom loved to entertain friends and family with tall tales, bad jokes and pearls of wisdom. He performed magic tricks and loved kidding around with grand and great-grandchildren, who lovingly called him granddaddy golf and pa pa golf.Isom is survived by wife, Patricia Sullivan, four children, Michael (Gloria) Sullivan, Shela (Donovan) Motley, Fatou (Hamidou) Sao and Manuel Sullivan; six grandchildren, Timothy (Kajunna) Patton, Deirdre (Henry) Sayles, Jared Motley, Abdoulaye Sao, Moussa Sao and Binta Sao; six great-grandchildren, Devin Faulk, Juwan Patton, Jiwan Faulk, Timia Patton, Constance Sayles and Autumn Sayles; five siblings, Horace Fuller Jr., Louise Weems, Arthur James Fuller, Lucy Kate Willis and Johnny Fuller; special friends Sam, Marie and Susan and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.Isom was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Columbus Fuller and Charlie Fuller and sister Rosa Lee Fuller.Mr. Sullivan will lie in repose on Friday Feb. 6, 2015 from 12 noon to 8 p.m. at Cobb’s Funeral Home. The celebration of his life will be on Saturday Feb. 7, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. from the chapel of Cobb’s Funeral Home, 151 Orchard Lake Rd., Pontiac, Mich., 48341. He will be taken to Barnesville for final services and burial.
