It’s back to polls today for state runoff

With no local races on the ballot, turnout is expected to be abysmally low here in today’s general primary runoff voting. Polling places throughout the county will be open from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. Elections supervisor Anita Reid said she had only 176 early voters last week and mailed out only 72 advance ballots for the runoff. Of those, 37 were returned and 2 were rejected. The most heated race is on the Republican ballot where Karen Handel and Nathan Deal are seeking their party’s gubernatorial nomination.
