Karen R. Jackson will be sworn in as deputy magistrate March 31 by chief magistrate William Thomas. Jackson fills the vacancy created by the tragic death of deputy magistrate Richard Stokes earlier this month. ”Ms. Jackson has served Lamar County very effectively and efficiently as deputy clerk for almost four years. She understands the court’s operations, its authority, scope, and limitations. She will continue to serve our county with distinction,” Judge Thomas said.
