Mr. James Allen Brown, age 76 of Flovilla passed away Thursday, July 26, 2012 at his residence. Mr. Brown was born May 11,1936 son of the late Robert Franklin Brown and the late Ruth Catherine Abrams Brown. He was a faithful member of Rock Springs Church where he served in the Compassionate Hearts Cancer Ministry. He was a 27 year veteran of the U.S. Air Force, ranking senior master sergeant, having served in Vietnam twice and was a lifetime member of the VFW Mr. Brown received 17 military medals including two purple hearts. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by a son, Donnie Hagstrom. Survivors include his wife, Vickie Brown; children and their spouses, Corinne and Jamie Morrison, Alan and Peggie Brown, Judi and Barry Temple, Becky and Ronny McMurray, Robyn Parker, Jason Hagstrom, Heather Boggs, Kristi and Dustin Gibbs, Mandy Cook and Kimberlie Brown; 29 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and a brother, John Brown. Graveside funeral services for Mr. James Allen Brown will be held Monday, July 30, 2012 at 11 a.m. in Rock Springs Church Cemetery. Rev. Stan Daniel will officiate. Friends may visit the family on Sunday, July 29, 2012 from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Compassionate Hearts Cancer Ministry of Rock Springs, 219 Rock Springs Rd., Milner, Ga., 30257 in memory of Mr. Brown.
