Mr. James Clifford Blackmon, age 89, of The Rock passed away Thursday, April 5, 2012 in an Upson County healthcare facility. A native of The Rock, Mr. Blackmon was the son of the late Mr. Jesse Blackmon and the late Mrs. Willie Mae Johnson Blackmon, and was also preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Annie Lee Bentley Blackmon, and by a son, Kerry Blackmon. Mr. Blackmon was retired from the William Carter Company as a quality control inspector. He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Sonja Blackmon of Thomaston; five grandchildren, Beth and Dewayne Dukes of Thomaston, Jamie and Alan Chastain of Thomaston, Jesse Blackmon of Thomaston, Robbie Lehane of Japan and Cliff Blackmon of Warner Robins; great-grandchildren, Rachel Matheny, Jeremy Bishop, Amanda Dawson, Taylor Blackmon, Cassie Blackmon and Kenzie Blackmon; and one great-great grandchild, Aubrey Mae Dawson. Funeral services for Mr. James C. Blackmon will be conducted from the graveside on Monday, April 9, 2012 at 11 a.m. in the Salem Cemetery in Upson County. The family will receive friends at Mr. Blackmon’s home place on Saturday, April 7, 2012 from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. Those who wish may view the memorial page and sign the guestbook online at williamsfh.net.
