James Lamar Butler

Mr. James Lamar Butler, age 77, passed away on Friday, Feb. 22, 2013 in a Griffin healthcare facility. Mr. Butler was born in Pike County to the late Mr. Sim Butler and the late Mrs. Christine Butler. He was retired from the William Carter Company and a member of the Beulah Baptist Church in Meansville. Mr. Butler was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Annette Buffington Butler; and his son, William Riley “Bubba” Butler. Survivors include his daughters, Deborah (and Mike) Harrison, Elaine Butler and Teresa Butler Boggs; two brothers, Johnny (and Martha) Butler and Larry (and Pat) Butler; a sister, Virginia Parker; two sisters-in-law, Bobbie Bridges and Charlene (and Roger) Hollandsworth. Nine grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services for Mr. James Lamar Butler will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013 from the chapel of Williams Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Lamar Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at Williams Funeral Home on Monday evening, Feb. 25, 2013 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Those who wish may view the memorial page and sign the guestbook online at williamsfh.net.
