Mr. James Richard Knoch, age 85, of Barnesville passed away Saturday, March 3, 2012 in a Griffin healthcare facility.He was a native of Bellevue, Penn. Born to the late Mr. James Hosmer Knoch and the late Mrs. Ruth Blanche Davis Knoch, Mr. Knoch worked as a salesman for Lowe’s Home Improvement warehouse and was a member of St. George’s Episcopal Church in Griffin. He was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Navy in World War II.Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Billie Jean Knoch of Barnesville; one son, James Edward (and Susan Kay) Knoch of Lawrenceville; two daughters, Barbara Jean (and Rodney) Bitner of Wilmington, N.C. and Patricia Ruth (and Robert ‘Bob’) Wright of Barnesville; brothers, Robert Knoch and Thomas Raymond Knoch, both of Pittsburgh, Penn.; seven grandchildren, Christopher Kahill Knoch of San Francisco, Calif., Tracie Elizabeth Garren of Suwanee, Thomas Michael Thrailkill of Monroe, James Matthew Wright of Barnesville, John Edward Wright of Atlanta, Robert Howard Wright of Barnesville; and Richard Allen Wright of Detroit, Mich.; and eight great-grandchildren.A memorial service for Mr. James Richard Knoch will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 10, 2012 at St. George’s Episcopal Church in Griffin.In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorial contributions be made to either St. George’s Episcopal Church, 132 N. 10th St., Griffin, Ga., 30223; or to the First Baptist Church of Barnesville, 200 Zebulon St., Barnesville, Ga., 30204.Those who wish may view the memorial page and sign the guestbook online at williamsfh.net.Williams Funeral Home of Barnesville is in charge of arrangements, 770-358-1678.
