Two weeks of criminal trials have been scheduled for Lamar superior court next month to handle a backlog of criminal cases including those involving several high-profile defendants. Criminal trials will be held the weeks of Monday, Jan. 23 and Monday, Jan. 30. Topping the calendar are the murder trials of three men charged with killing a Gordon College student during a home invasion. Shameik Jamilahad Spinks, Lekievius T. Eleby and Bryce Arsenio Smith allegedly shot and killed Danavan Bussey during a home invasion December 5, 2010.
